Oven Bake Clay 32-Color Polymer Set

Toddlerhood is a crucial stage for developing your child’s artistic intelligence. During this stage, you have the chance to mold your kids to be artistically-inclined. In fact, you can start by introducing them to art and crafts that they can do with their hands like this oven-bake clay art. This oven-bake clay art kit is a 32-color polymer clay set with three sculpting tools. It’s ideal for toddlers who are 3 years old and above. However, adults can also play with polymer clays for past time, hobby art, and even as crafts to sell! There are so many things you can do with the oven-bake clay. Unlike modeling clay-the the ones you buy in the school supplies store, this one hardens when you “bake” it in the oven. So, you can make so much stuff using this clay, like keychains, figurines, fridge magnets, and many more!

Keep your Art

What makes the polymer art different from other types of art is that you can actually keep its shape forever. There are three ways that you can harden or “finalize” the design. The first method is by baking it. Set the oven to 130 o F before you place your creations inside. Take note that if your clay is about 1/4 inch thick, you only need to bake it for 15 minutes. On the other hand, if it is half an inch thick, you need to bake it for 30 mins. If you do not have an oven, you can choose option two: poaching. When poaching the clay, drop it in boiling water and let it stay there for 10 to 20 mins (depending on the thickness). You may also choose option three: steaming for 10-20 mins.

Clay Care Tips

Before using the clay, make sure that your hands are clean from any dust and dirt as this may affect the color of the clay. Moreover, before molding the clay make sure you knead so that it’s soft and easy to mold. Finally, when not in use, always seal the clay in a plastic wrapper.
